The upcoming 2032 Summer Olympics in Brisbane represents a momentous occasion, fostering anticipation of substantial transformation and development within the city as it prepares for this global event. The completion of the Cross River Rail, coupled with the extensively discussed Gabba redevelopment under Palaszczuk’s administration, is undeniably poised to leave an enduring mark on Brisbane’s urban landscape and infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/gyGevsky. Nevertheless, it’s the Woolloongabba Precinct that is poised to reap the most significant benefits from these advancements.
Gabba Heart Precinct: Belmonde Property Group and Sun Luxe Group, in collaboration with Cottee Parker Architects, have presented an ambitious proposal in their own right. The masterplan is available for viewing here: https://lnkd.in/gzgrvPQh
Station Square: One noteworthy development is Trenert’s $1.2 billion Station Square project. The project will feature affordable housing, residential apartments, a 320-room five-star hotel, office building and a retail complex at ground. The project can be explored further here: https://lnkd.in/gzgrvPQh
BTR project: Another site to highlight is the Build to Rent (BTR) initiative by JGL Projects in collaboration with Bureau Proberts as detailed here: https://lnkd.in/gwD7qBBd.
My favourite projects – only because I had the opportunity collaborate with Sarazin and associated architects – include; Silk Lane (designed byNettleton Tribe), Nuage (crafted by HAL Architects), Murcia (also by HAL Archtiects), and their latest submission, Hampton Yards (conceived by GroupGSA)

As these transformative proposals materialize in preparation for the 2032 Olympics, it promises to be intriguing to witness the evolution of the Brisbane skyline and the profound impact these ambitious developments will exert on the city’s landscape. The lasting legacy of these projects, characterized by urban rejuvenation, economic growth, and the creation of enriched community spaces, is poised to benefit Brisbane for years to come.
